The Archdiocese of Atlanta concluded National Catholic Schools Week with the Archbishop's Banquet for Catholic Education. Recognition awards were presented to the outstanding employee from each of the 18 Archdiocesan and 5 independent Catholic schools. As part of Catholic Schools Week, students made posters depicting how OLA serves our community. The posters captured the various programs through which we hope to help those in need, both locally and around the world, as well as the heart at the core of these initiatives.
One of the activities for Catholic Schools Week at OLA is "Penny Wars." Students donate pennies to their homeroom to earn “points” for their class and may sabotage other classrooms by bringing in nickels, dimes, quarters, and bills. From Sunday, January 25 through Saturday, January 31, we enjoyed National Catholic Schools Week (CSW), our annual celebration of what makes education at OLA Catholic School outstanding.
