When considering the applicant pool, OLA follows the priority list for acceptance, but the number of siblings and parishioners seeking spots will not be known until the end of the application period. OLA’s ability to serve those applicants cannot be determined until after the screening process.
Your applicant will not be penalized if a parish verification or teacher recommendation form is not received by the deadline; however, no decision will be made on an applicant until all required documentation is on file.
NOTE: Parish verification and teacher recommendations must be given to the appropriate parish/school office. Incomplete forms will not be forwarded to the appropriate entity by the OLA Admissions office.
Applicants to grades one through seven will have an assessment appointment also scheduled in February. These appointments last between ninety minutes and two hours. We will work with out of town applicants to accommodate their availability to make a screening appointment.
No decision will be made on an applicant until the required assessment has been completed.
In grades one through eight, a student’s achievement in reading, written language, and mathematics is assessed using an age-normed, standardized instrument.
Applicants to grades one through seven will receive written results within two to three weeks of their screening appointment.
