Please look for your question here. If you do not see it, please feel free to contact us.

Please visit the School Tours & Open House page for information about the many opportunities to visit OLA. In addition, OLA hosts Classroom Observation Day in January, which allows parents to sit in on classes at any grade level throughout the school.

Please schedule your school tour prior to the January 31 application deadline. The remainder of the admissions season is devoted to processing applications, assessing applicants, and reviewing files. Thank you.

OLA School’s fundamental priority is to serve the best education to all students, which are accepted. Once the decision is made that OLA can serve the needs of a student, then Archdiocesan Priority qualifications, found on the application process page, are followed. OLA School is a respected institution and as such receives numerous applications. It is not unusual for OLA School to have two applications for each pre-kindergarten and kindergarten opening.
There is no way for the Admissions Office to anticipate the number of openings that will be available for the coming school year. Current student re-registration is not complete until the end of February, students who have applied elsewhere, e.g.,  Marist, will not know if they’ve been accepted until early April, and family transfers often happen late in the school year or over summer break.

When considering the applicant pool, OLA follows the priority list for acceptance, but the number of siblings and parishioners seeking spots will not be known until the end of the application period. OLA’s ability to serve those applicants cannot be determined until after the screening process.

OLA is at capacity and is not accepting any applications for the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year. We encourage families to apply for the coming year.
Yes. All applicants must submit an application online through the RenWeb admissions portal. The online application will be available on November 1, 2017.
You are encouraged to make every effort possible to have all of the applicant’s supporting documents on file with the Admissions office by January 31, 2018. Please follow your parish and/or school guidelines for allowing adequate lead time to have forms returned to OLA.

Your applicant will not be penalized if a parish verification or teacher recommendation form is not received by the deadline; however, no decision will be made on an applicant until all required documentation is on file.

NOTE: Parish verification and teacher recommendations must be given to the appropriate parish/school office. Incomplete forms will not be forwarded to the appropriate entity by the OLA Admissions office.

The Admissions office will assign Pre-K and kindergarten applicants a one-hour assessment appointment for one of the following days: February 6 or 10, 2018.  Parents will be notified at least two weeks prior to the child’s assessment.

Applicants to grades one through seven will have an assessment appointment scheduled either February 10 or 17, 2018. These appointments last between ninety minutes and two hours. We will work with out of town applicants to accommodate their availability to make a screening appointment.

No decision will be made on an applicant until the required assessment has been completed.

Applicants to pre-kindergarten and kindergarten are assessed using developmentally-appropriate tasks, which assess prerequisite skills such as oral language and visual discrimination.

In grades one through eight, a student’s achievement in reading, written language, and mathematics is assessed using an age-normed, standardized instrument.

Applicants to Pre-K and kindergarten will receive the results via a letter mailed to the home within two to three weeks after the screening.

Applicants to grades one through seven will receive written results within two weeks of their screening appointment.

All decision letters will be mailed on March 30, 2018, in adherence with the Atlanta Area Association of Independent Schools (AAAIS) guidelines. No decisions will be released prior to March 31, 2017. Accepted families have until 3:00 pm on April 12, 2018 to submit a deposit to the Admissions office. At that time, any unsecured spots will be offered to families on the waiting list.
The best form of communication is by email at admissions@olaschool.org. Admissions is an extremely busy time of year; please allow twenty-four business hours for an email reply and forty-eight business hours for a return phone call.
