Thank you for your interest in Our Lady of the Assumption School’s Annual Fund.  The Annual Fund kicks off in early fall and ends May 31st, one month prior to our Fiscal Year End.

The Annual Fund was established in 1991, and quickly became the cornerstone of our development efforts for advancement at Our Lady of the Assumption School.  Each year, gifts to the Annual Fund help to supplement operating costs and provide extra needs not including in the school’s operating expenses.  Tuition covers only 80-85% of the operating costs and none of the cost for extra needs; therefore, OLA depends heavily on Annual Fund and Home & School fundraising to raise the rest of the funds needed. 

Our Lady of the Assumption School is a non-profit school with a 501 (c) (3) tax status.  This tax status allows your Annual Fund donations to be 100% tax deductible and also qualifies the school to receive corporate matching funds.  Be sure to ask your employer about matching gifts as they can double or triple your gift.  Most companies have matching gift programs, but not all give to K-8 schools.  Please reference the list of corporations who do have some type of matching gift program by clicking on (corp. match).  This list changes frequently, so if your company is not listed do not automatically assume they do not have a matching program.  To be sure, check directly with your employer.

The impact of Annual Fund on our school is evidenced by what has been accomplished over the last sixteen years (History of AF Uses).  Annual Fund helped to build Mercy Hall, which houses our media center, science lab, classrooms and two computer labs; it has also provided an air conditioning system for the original school building, replaced 50 year old windows with new energy-efficient windows, remodeled all bathrooms, added a security system, and most recently provided sound field audio systems, SmartBoards, digital projectors and computers for each classroom.
