Congratulations to first grade teacher Janet Jovert who was honored at the Seventh Annual Archbishop’s Education Banquet held February 1, 2014. Ms. Jovert was selected by her peers to receive the honor.
From the event program:
“Teaching at OLA every day is the highlight of my career, and I appreciate the sense of family and community that makes us who we are as a school. My cup has overflowed with the love and support we all feel for one another.” This sentiment comes from Janet Jovert, first grade teacher and 2014 Archbishop’s Education Banquet Honoree from OLA.
For the past eight years, Mrs. Jovert has been a much-loved faculty member and role model in the OLA community. Her primary goal is to have students succeed; she works tirelessly to ensure her students achieve their highest potential. Her classroom is welcoming, and her calm, reassuring manner makes her students feel comfortable and eager to learn – a winning combination for any six year old.
Mrs. Jovert is candid at parent/teacher conferences and masterfully relays information to parents, particularly when the news is challenging. Her message is delivered with concern and insight and truly comes from her heart. Parents recognize how much she cares for the well-being of each of her children. She is patient, kind, and thoughtful, and she knows how to use humor to spice up those thankless duties in schools. Her daily interactions with her students, families, and colleagues reflect her loving spirit. Mrs. Jovert is everything that a Catholic teacher should be, and for this, the OLA community is thankful.
