For a couple of years, OLA has had a school-wide program of respect called “HATS.” HATS is an acronym for Helpful And Thoughtful Students, and HATS recognition is given to students, faculty, and staff for acts of kindness, helpfulness, and thoughtfulness. The wearing of different hats serves to remind us of the uniqueness of each person. All who wear a hat may come out of uniform on HATS day, which is held once a month. Just over a year ago, 11Alive featured OLA’s HATS day in their “Random Acts of Kindness” series. Check it out here!
