This coming year, our school will once again support a local charity called Totes 2 Tots, an initiative that serves foster children. Please bring any gently-used backpacks and luggage you have on hand and no longer need or use to Meet and Greet on Tuesday, August 8, for the Totes 2 Tots program.
All too often, foster children in Georgia use garbage bags to carry their belongings when they move from one residence to another. Totes 2 Tots collects community-donated suitcases and tote-bags and provides them to these children for their moves. The goal is to help restore some dignity to these children’s lives while easing the burden of their frequent transitions.
As you do your back-to-school shopping, please hold on to any old backpacks you might be replacing. During Meet and Greet on Tuesday, August 8th representatives from our Spiritual Life group will be present to collect gently-used backpacks and luggage you have on hand and no longer need or use. We are very excited about the Totes 2 Tots initiative as it does not require our families to make a purchase and yet has such a meaningful impact on the lives of Georgia’s foster children. Last year, we collected well over 100 bags for these children.
