Yes, our Open House is scheduled for November 9, 2023, from 6:30pm to 8:00pm and we offer School Tours on Thursday mornings at 9:30am. OLA School’s fundamental priority is to serve the best education to all students who are accepted. Once the decision is made that OLA can serve a student’s needs, then Archdiocesan Priority qualifications, found on the application process page, are followed. OLA School is a respected institution and, as such, receives numerous applications. It is not unusual for OLA School to have two applications for each pre-kindergarten and kindergarten opening.
There is no way for the Admissions Office to anticipate the number of openings that will be available for the coming school year. Current student re-registration is not complete until the end of February, students who have applied elsewhere, e.g., Marist, will not know if they’ve been accepted until early April, and family transfers often happen late in the school year or over summer break.
When considering the applicant pool, OLA follows the priority list for acceptance, but the number of siblings and parishioners seeking spots will not be known until the end of the application period. OLA’s ability to serve those applicants cannot be determined until after the screening process.
OLA is at capacity and is not accepting any applications for the remainder of the 2023 -2024 school year. We encourage families to apply for the 2024 – 2025 school year.
Yes. All applicants must apply online through the FACTS admission portal. The online application will be available on November 1, 2023, and the deadline to submit is January 31, 2024.
You are encouraged to make every effort possible to have all of the applicant’s supporting documents on file with the Admissions office by January 31, 2024. Please follow your school guidelines for allowing adequate lead time to have forms returned to OLA.
Your applicant will not be penalized if a teacher recommendation form is not received by the deadline; however, no decision will be made on an applicant until all required documentation is on file.
NOTE: Teacher recommendations must be given to the appropriate school office. Incomplete forms will not be forwarded to the appropriate entity by the OLA Admissions office.
The Admissions office will assign Pre-K and kindergarten applicants their assessment for February 10, 2024, in January. For the younger children, the assessment takes place in the morning.
Applicants in grades one through seven, will also be scheduled for February 10, 2024, and parents will be notified of their specific time the last two weeks in January. Appointments last between 45 minutes and an hour.
We will work with out-of-town applicants to accommodate their availability to make a screening appointment.
No decision will be made on an applicant until the required assessment has been completed.
Applicants to Pre-K and kindergarten are assessed using developmentally-appropriate tasks, which assess prerequisite skills such as oral language and visual discrimination.
In grades one through eight, a student’s achievement in reading, written language, and mathematics is assessed using an age-normed, standardized instrument.
All decision letters will be mailed on March 31, 2023, in adherence with the Atlanta Area Association of Independent Schools (AAAIS) guidelines. Electronic notification will be completed by noon, on April 1, 2023.

Accepted families have until 4:00 pm on April 13, 2023, to submit their deposit and signed Acceptance policy to the OLA Admissions office. After that time, any unsecured spots will be offered to families on the waiting list.
