The Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program is an initiative that enables individuals and businesses to help deserving students access quality K-12 education that may otherwise be out of reach.
All Georgia taxpayers are eligible to receive a 100% state income tax credit in exchange for their contributions to Georgia GOAL. Funds raised through GOAL are used to provide tuition assistance for exceptional students desiring to attend participating schools in the state, like Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School, who might not otherwise be able to do so.

From GRACE to GOAL
After careful and prayerful evaluation, the board of GRACE Scholars has decided to discontinue operations. The Diocese of Savannah and the Archdiocese of Atlanta has begun the process of moving from GRACE to the Greater Opportunities for Access to Learning (GOAL) Scholarship Program.
Approximately ten times larger than GRACE Scholars, GOAL is Georgia’s leading student scholarship organization with over 231 participating schools. We believe this partnership will help us to provide more students with the opportunity to attend Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School that may not have been able to otherwise.
Instrumental in the decision were the following attributes of the GOAL program:
- GOAL – the first Student Scholarship Organization formed in the state of Georgia – has consistently worked with its participating schools to raise the largest share of taxpayer contributions each year. (Though there are close to 25 Student Scholarship Organizations in the state, GOAL has raised approximately 50% of all contributions statewide, since inception of the program.)
- GOAL invests significantly in providing its partner schools with the tools, technology and support necessary to compete for the popular tax credit dollars, as they are increasingly precious commodities, in very high demand.
- GOAL has charged administrative fees that are less than permitted by law in every year since inception, with a fee of 4.0%. In the past two years, GOAL has provided a rebate to all partner schools of 1%, bringing the current fee to 3.0%.
- GOAL is committed to transparency, efficiency, and advocacy in order to preserve and protect this important program in Georgia.
The process and the tax benefits to you are exactly the same as GRACE; you will just use the GOAL system to complete the contribution process.
